Ninkasi has been a power house in the local beer industry this past year. They are doing great things not only with their beers, but with promotion and advertising as well. It takes a lot to stand a part from all the other local breweries. Good beer is just part of the puzzle. We recently had a chance to give their Maiden The Shade a try and were very pleased to find this beer can definitely stand on it’s own.

Appearance:
Goldfish tint and very transparent. Small quarter inch head. Medium Carb.
Smell:
They advertise the hoppiness but I can smell the malts here. A darker duller smell than most IPAs. Had to taste out bend ale trail cups and the bottle so I am probably a little off.
Taste:
Sweet and malty. Definitely different.
Mouthfeel:
Thin bodied. Slight taste of tomato at the end of the tongue.
Last Sip/Drinkability:
I will definitely be drinking this one again. Not too sweet and not too malty. A different mixture with a dull fruity almost veggie taste hence the tomato.
