I never really noticed this entry from Deschutes until this year. For some reason the label stuck out at me and when I took a look and realized this was a true summer attempt by the brewery it was a must try! We have so far bought four 6-packs of this beer in the past 2 months.

Style: American Pale Ale

Ingredients:

Malts: ???

Hops:???

Yeast & Water: ???

Specs:

  • 5% ABV
  • 35 IBU
  • ?? AA
  • ??º Lovibond

History
Looks like Deschutes needed a very light beer. Not at all a sell out as this still has that hoppy micro brew taste.

    Appearance:

This beer has a very light 3/4 inch head which had lots of lacing. The beer’s body was very clear with medium carbonation.

    Smell:

Very sweet hops and small amount of malt. Very crisp and light for a micro-brew.

    Taste:

Smells of pine and sweet honey!Light and smooth with a hint of bitterness.

    Mouthfeel:

Light and smooth with a hint of bitterness.

    Last Sip/Drinkability:

This beer is made for the summer. I finally found a replacement for those extra light beers needed at the beach and on the river. Goodbye Corona and Coors!

    Final Rating:4.5

  2. Cali 06-10-2010

    Appearance:

The beer had a golden brown or more tan color and was clear when looking through the glass. The head was light and foamy and creamy colored.

    Smell:

I could smell wood, apple and baked bread.

    Taste:

This beer tastes very crisp to me with apple and fresh baked bread flavors. It is light and reminds me of a perfect beer for a hot summer day.

    Mouthfeel:

    Very light and refreshing.

    Last Sip/Drinkability:

Although this is not my favorite beer, I want to mention that it is very light and easy to drink. For how light it is, it actually has decent flavor. I do think it is a easy beer to serve when having friends over that may not even like micro brews, however with that said, you can see why it may not be my favorite beer.

    Final Rating:3.5
