This beer was actually one of the first I ever purchased when starting to blog about craft brews. Unfortunately, I have a tendency to look at the cover of a book before deciding to read it.  Fortunately, after giving this beer a taste I am OK with that judgment.  By the price tag on this little bottle I knew it wasn’t just your regular ol beer. Reading the label just made me excited about what I was about to try.

I don’t have a lot on this one. If anybody can chip in please do. Here are the specs:

Style: American Strong Ale

Ingredients:

Malts: ??

Hops: ??

Yeast & Water:??

Specs:

  • 8.6% ABV
  • ??º PLATO
  • ?? IBU
  • ?? AA
  • ??º Lovibond

HISTORY

This beer is a collaborative effort from BrewDog and Stone Brewery.

    Appearance:

Very dark and almost black. Little carbonation and a thick 1inch tan head.

    Smell:

Mostly malts and alcohol with a tiny bit of hops.

    Taste:

Dark coffee. Smoky with a bitter bite.

    Mouthfeel:

Pretty bitter and smoky. Dark roasted malts with a dry finish.

    Last Sip/Drinkability:

One of the better darker beers I have tasted. If it wasn;t for the steep price I may get more of this one.

A little too dark for my taste.
